Millennial
2019.09.04
Meaning:
A generation is a group of people born around the same time. In English, we often talk about 5 generation-groups:
• Generation Z (1997-present)
• Millennials (1981-1996)
• Generation X (1965-1980)
• Baby Boomers (1946-1964)
• the Silent Generation (1925-1945)
Each generation has a different image, and this image is different in different countries. But one of the key differences between millennials and older generations is how comfortable they are with social media - and the internet in general.
Example:
(A is generation X and B is a millenial)
A: Come on! Let’s go!
B: Hang on! I just want to take a selfie and post it on Instagram…
A: Oh my God… you are such a millennial!
Talking Point(s):
Which generation do you belong to?
