Easy come, easy go

2016.10.12

Meaning:

‘Easy come, easy go’ means ‘If you make money too easily (eg if you win it at pachinko), you will spend it (waste it) too fast’. It means that if people don’t work hard for their money, they don’t appreciate their money.

Example:

A: I can’t believe it! John gets a huge bonus every Christmas, but he has no money by January.
B: Ah well, easy come easy go. John thinks of that bonus as ‘play money’.

Talking Point(s):

Do you think the idea behind ‘easy come, easy go’ is true? If you won the lottery, would you be careful with the money?
