Fresh air is new air. Sometimes we open our windows so that we can change the old air in our houses and have fresh air come in. makes most of us feel good. If you breathe in fresh air it makes us feel healthy and energetic. So the expression ‘He or She is a breath of fresh air’ means ‘He or She is a positive, lively change’. For example, I could say, ‘My new boss is really fun. My old boss was really boring. My new boss is a breath of fresh air.
